The topic is very interesting. Unfortunately, this version of the grenades that were used at the beginning of the war is missing.

It seems the same thing is also on the 7.5 M15 here
https://www.cesimmunizioni.eu/forum/vie ... 5&start=20
There are not many news about it, as written in the 7.5cm topic maybe a model 17 that removed the fragmentation to put more explosives.

If anyone knows more write ...

Harnas the monoblock M5 granate was made in cast iron and was uded fron 1905 untill the ww1. in reality the yours are hibryds, because use the new fuze M15a ( a iron and semplified copy of M5 brass time fuze). Originally the monoblocks use the M5 brass time fuzes, these exist for granades and SHr with a corrred reduction ring for the old shr M5 (made like the shr of 7 cm mountain gun).

I can propose this designation fort the monoblock with 2 driving bands: granate M5/15a, the first used model granate M5/5.
For the nmonoblock with one driving band i don't know when was introduced but i think in 1913 or 1914, exist for 8 cm and for the 7,5 cm guns.

Harnas, the first one you post isn't a 8 cm but is it a 7,5cm M15 gs, the 8 cm M14 GS was lower with double ring on driving band.

The problem is that, as far as I know, the 8cm M.5 Granate with the M.5 fuse had a fragmentation core (it was not a monoblock). Am I wrong?

" 8 cm M.5 Granatpatrone

The original granate and shr for M5 gun have got a cast iron monoblock granate and a specifical shr made very similar to the 7 cm M99 shr model.

In the photo an early m5 cast iron monoblock granate (no screw cork in the down) in a transitional conformation because was equiped with a M15a fuze, probably the old M5 brass fuze was rarest on the front and was more common to find on easter front (because the old remances on the depots was transfered on easter front in the 1914).
From the 1915 in effect the new granate had a better performances with the pre-fragmented rings.

The explosive was into the canvass sack.

The M15a iron fuze (erzast impact fuze)) is it a poor copy on a M5 time brass fuze.

You're right, I put the 8cm fuse into the 7.5cm shell. [142 I will try to correct it.

Thank you Usti for helping me solve the mystery. Do you know in which year the M.15a fuse was put into use?
